EBI CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY REPORT - EXTRACT

AGGREGATE DATA FROM ibuild.info CONSTRUCTION PROJECT DATABASE

  • HUNGARY
  • H2 2016

ACTIVITY-START 1 – CONSTRUCTIONS STARTED – COUNTRYWIDE

Activity-Start indicates the number and total construction value of projects whose construction started in the given period. H2 2016 registered 58% fewer projects whose construction works started than the corresponding period of the previous year. The average size of projects, however, is larger than a year ago, thus the total value of such started projects has decreased less, by 22% at current price. Although the drop in building construction and civil engineering is approximately the same, individual segments show a very diverse picture. Detailed data can be found in the full report.

OUTPUT 1 – AMOUNT SPENT ON CONSTRUCTION – COUNTRYWIDE

NEW CONSTRUCTION | RENOVATION | TOTAL

Output indicates the amount spent on construction in the given period. In 2016, HUF 1,213 billion were spent on construction projects listed in the database, which is 22% less than in the same period a year before. Civil engineering slumped by 58% compared to 2015. Output in building construction increased by 14% due to the expansion of new constructions. At the same time, spendings on renovation works declined. Breaking down building construction into segments, residential and industrial segments are outstanding. Detailed data can be found in the full report.

The EBI Construction Activity Report is made half-yearly in English and in Hungarian by processing ibuild.info construction project database, in the cooperation of ELTINGA, Buildecon and ibuild.info. The aggregates calculated from the data of individual construction projects carry up-to-date information about the current performance of the Hungarian construction market.

The full EBI Construction Activity Report contains Activity-Start and Output indicators detailed by building types (residential, office, industrial, road, rail, utilities, etc), regions or new construction – reconstruction.
